Samples
If you are asked to bring a sample to surgery please hand it in at reception before 11.30am to allow transportation to the laboratory. All samples must have the patients name, date of birth and date and time of sample.
Test Results
Our telephones are very busy in the early morning.
Routine blood test results usually take 3-5 days. Certain tests such as X-rays or scans can take up to 4 weeks for the results to come back to the surgery.
We will try to contact you if there is an abnormal result or if further action is required. Please make sure we have an up-to-date contact number. If you have not heard from us and you wish to know the results, please call the surgery after 2pm.
Alternatively, you can use Patient Access Online or the NHS App to download or view your test results. Or you can receive your results via SMS (Text Message) by submitting a form online and providing your details.
To ensure confidentiality, we only release results to the patient, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.
