Using a small handheld instrument called a dermascope (or dermatoscope) – which is like a strong magnifying glass – our specialists can assess and record the area’s health.
The dermascope allows us to view the skin at a strongly magnified level, taking high resolution pictures and revealing details about structure, pigmentation and colours. These details can help us diagnose the issue and distinguish between conditions.
Dermoscopy is completely painless and can provide fast answers, helping to put your mind at ease. It also means moles don’t have to be removed unnecessarily, leaving benign blemishes in place and monitoring their condition.
