This service is for anyone over the age of 5 years old, you can be assessed and treated for acute sore throat symptoms in the majority of community pharmacies without having to wait for a GP appointment.

Symptoms of a sore throat can include:

• Sudden onset of a sore throat

• Pain when swallowing

• Swollen, scratchy throat and tonsils

As well as being able to suggest over-the-counter treatments, many pharmacies are open later in the evenings and at weekends. You don’t even need to make an appointment.

The scheme provides convenient options and fast treatment.

No appointment or Doctor’s referral is needed.

Please note the service is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant so if you are you will need to see a Advanced Nurse Practitioner first.
