Local pharmacies can help with Acute Otitis Media (Middle Ear Infection)

This service is for anyone who is aged between 1-17 years old, you can be assessed and treated for acute otitis media symptoms in the majority of community pharmacies without having to wait for a GP appointment.
Symptoms of a middle ear infection can include:
• Pulling of the ear
• Fluid drainage
• Pain and discomfort in ear
As well as being able to suggest over-the-counter treatments, many pharmacies are open later in the evenings and at weekends. You don’t even need to make an appointment.
The scheme provides convenient options and fast treatment.
No appointment or Doctor’s referral is needed.
Please note this service is not appropriate for anyone under 1 or over 17 years old you will need to see an Advanced Nurse Practitioner first at the GP Surgery
