What’s involved in a NHS Health Check
During this free ‘midlife MOT’ you’ll be asked some lifestyle questions and a health professional will do some simple tests.
During the 20-30 min session, they will check your Blood pressure, Height, Weight, BMI (a measure of whether you are a healthy weight), Waist circumference (measurement), Cholesterol and HbA1C (diabetes).
Where can you have an NHS Health Check?
You’ll be invited for a free NHS Health Check every 5 years if you’re between 40 and 74 years of age and do not already have a pre-existing condition.
If you’re registered with Audley Health Centre and fit the criteria, we will automatically invite you to book an appointment for an NHS Health Check by sending you a letter or text.
Do not worry if you have not been invited yet – you will be over the next 5 years.
