MENOPAUSE – USEFUL RESOURCES
There are many resources available about the perimenopause. The following offer practical and current evidence-based information that can help you understand your symptoms and feel better informed about your options.
WEBSITES
You can access these on the internet.
‘Rock my Menopause’ is the public campaign from the Primary Care Women’s Health Forum to raise awareness about the symptoms and treatments of the perimenopause and menopause. There are also lots of advice sheets and podcasts on a range of perimenopause related issues.
Women’s Health Concern – is the patient arm of the British Menopause Society (BMS). They provide an independent service to advise, reassure and educate women of all ages about their health, wellbeing and lifestyle concerns.
Balance-Menopause – contains evidence-based resources (information sheets, videos and podcasts) about all aspects of the perimenopause and menopause from menopause specialist Dr Louise Newson. Information about how to manage your symptoms and improve your health and wellbeing through lifestyle changes, HRT and complimentary therapies.
My Menopause Centre – lots of evidence based resources and advice about the menopause, symptoms and treatment from GP and menopause expert Dr Clare Spencer.
Anne Henderson, Consultant Gynaecologist | Gynae Expert (gynae-expert.co.uk) – Menopause Specialist Anne Henderson has some good videos in the resources section of her website.
Menopause Matters – lots of information about symptoms, treatments and navigating the perimenopause. You can access an online version of the quarterly Menopause Matters magazine which has a diverse range of articles.
The Daisy Network is a charity that offers support and advice for women with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency or Premature Menopause (under the age of 40). You can find current research, news and events and join the network here.
The NICE Guidelines for Menopause provide the current guidance and advice to support women experiencing symptoms of the perimenopause.
